Meet Sandra Walia Guillow

Sandra Walia Guillow, Lic. Ac.

Sandra Walia Guillow, Lic. Ac.

Sandra Walia Guillow, M.Ac., Lic. Ac. Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM), began her study of medicine in 1980 at New Hampshire Technical College where she received a degree in Medical Technology. She then worked in hospitals in New Hampshire and Vermont.

In 1995 she became a First Responder and started working on the ambulance squad in her hometown in Vermont. During this time she was also studying T’ai Chi Chuan, a gentle Chinese martial art.

Drawn to a more holistic way of healing, Sandra started to explore alternative methods of medicine. When a career change for her husband moved the family to Connecticut in 1996, Sandra continued to work in biomedicine but completed her pre-med credits at the University of Connecticut, where she was honored as a Babbidge Scholar.

When I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on November 6, 2015, I had already been under Sandra’s care for over fifteen years. She had been treating me for arthritic pain, anxiety and other minor ailments over the years. She had helped me through knee replacement. She even came to the rehab center to give me a treatment. But when I began my cancer journey, she became an indispensable part of my healing team. She helped prepare me for the very difficult 7 ½ Whipple surgery which rearranged my guts to remove the cancerous tumor and left me with digestive issues for over a year. She helped me with the pain and discomfort after surgery. And of course, she eased my anxiety. When I started chemotherapy and faced a compromised immune system, her treatments raised my white blood count enough so I could discontinue the Neupogen shots that caused severe bone. A year later, I had delayed effects from the surgery, involving scar tissue and a stone in my liver bile duct that had to be corrected with 2 1/2 hour endoscopic surgery and placement of temporary stents. Again there she was for me with her healing hands, aromatherapy, acupuncture and all the other tools in her extensive arsenal. Now, 1 and ½ years later, against all odds, I am doing exceptionally well.

Battling cancer is hard. You cannot do it alone. Thank God I had Sandra in my corner. Not only is she an expert in her field, she is an intuitive healer who understands that healing involves not only the body but the mind and spirit. I will be forever grateful for my ‘little Goddess’ who has become not only my healer but my friend. Anyone who is lucky enough to find their way to her door will be forever blessed.

I had originally gone to Sandra seeking an extra something to bolster already excellent health. Was I in for a surprise. I didn’t know what good felt like till Sandra worked her magic.

Then came a puzzling condition that would leave me dizzy and weak without warning. An ambulance to emergency, many additional thousands of dollars in tests, several specialists, and still no clue as to the cause. During a milder episode, I managed to get to Sandra so she could see the effects. She knew exactly what to do. One session cured the condition. I have had no indications for over two years that the symptoms will return.

Sandra also cured a pulled back muscle that came and went for 30 years. One session, a single needle...cured as if it never happened.

I consider Sandra my primary care physician. By all means, see her before committing only to traditional medicine.

I had been to five specialists over the course of five months for a sleeping condition before I found Sandra. She came highly recommended by several other professionals in the natural health industry and so I had to try one more thing since I was feeling that my doctors weren’t able to help me. I’m happy to say that I am now sleeping much better because of the special attention and care that Sandra has taken with every acupuncture treatment. She is truly passionate about what she does and it shows. Thank you, Sandra!
